Privacy & Disclosures
Privacy & Disclosures.
Last updated: April 2026.
Short version
This site does not set tracking cookies, does not use third-party advertising, and does not sell, share, or rent any data about you. I run minimal first-party analytics (Umami, self-hosted) so I can see how many people are visiting and which posts are popular — no personal identifiers are collected.
What I collect
Contact form. If you send a message via the contact form, I receive the name, email, optional website, and message you provide. I use this to reply and nothing else. No mailing list, no marketing.
Comments. When the live commenting system (Waline) is enabled, signing in via Google, GitHub, Twitter, or Facebook shares the public profile data those providers expose (typically display name and avatar). Comments are stored on infrastructure I control.
Analytics. Umami logs a hashed page-view event per request. No cookies, no IP logging beyond the inferred country, no cross-site tracking.
Cookies
The site itself sets one cookie-equivalent: a localStorage
entry that remembers your light/dark theme preference. That value
stays in your browser and is never sent anywhere.
Affiliates and disclosures
Some posts written before 2022 may include Amazon affiliate links from the original WordPress era. I do not actively use affiliate programs in new content. When a post does include a sponsored or paid relationship, I disclose it explicitly inline.
Your rights
You can ask me to delete any data you've sent (a contact-form message, a comment) by reaching me through the contact page. I act on those requests promptly.
Changes
If this policy materially changes, I'll note the new "last updated" date above and explain the change in plain language.
